What’s the Difference?

Vision vs. Medical Insurance

Vision and medical insurance each cover different types of eye care, and understanding the difference can help you know what to expect.

Vision insurance is typically used for routine eye exams, glasses, and contact lenses. These plans often include benefits for annual exams and help cover part of the cost of eyewear.

Medical insurance is used when your visit involves eye health concerns or conditions. This can include eye infections, injuries, diabetic eye care, glaucoma, and other medical conditions that affect your eyes.

A pregnant woman and a child are standing in the kitchen and seem to be playing together. They are standing on the wooden floor. A refrigerator, a cabinet, and a sink are on the right side, and a gas stove is on the left. A bowl, cups, plates, and a pot are placed on the shelf. A microwave oven is in the corner. The reflection of the gas stove is reflected on the floor.

From medical treatments to your annual eye exam, we provide a wide range of services at Oscoda Optics.

Conveniently located, we offer flexible hours to fit your busy schedule, so your care works around your life.
