To provide the highest standard of medical eye care, we require all new and returning patients to update their information annually. Please have your insurance cards and a list of current medications ready before you begin.
Standard Of Care
Insurance is designed to assist with the cost of care, but does not always cover all services that are part of a comprehensive eye health evaluation. At The Optics Group, our clinical decisions and testing protocols are based on professional standards of care and industry guidelines—not insurance coverage. Our goal is to provide the most thorough evaluation of your eye health at every visit. As a courtesy, we will submit claims to your insurance on your behalf. Copays, deductibles, and non-covered services are due at the time of service. When billing medical insurance, coverage details and copay amounts are not always known at the time of your visit. Patients are responsible for any remaining balance not covered or paid by their insurance.
High-resolution digital retinal imaging is part of our standard comprehensive eye health evaluation. This technology:
- Provides a detailed image of the retina
- Creates a permanent record for year-to-year comparison
- Assists in detecting and monitoring retinal and systemic conditions
- Is painless and takes approximately 5 minutes
A $39 copay may apply depending on insurance requirements. Digital retinal imaging is the standard of care at The Optics Group and should be expected at each annual exam to ensure the most comprehensive evaluation of your eye health.
While retinal imaging provides extensive documentation, dilation may still be required based on findings during your examination. The need for dilation cannot always be determined prior to the exam and will be performed when clinically necessary to ensure a complete assessment of your ocular health.
Patients who arrive 15 minutes or more after their scheduled appointment time will be considered a no-show and may need to reschedule. We understand that emergencies happen and that, occasionally, you may be unable to contact us prior to your appointment. Therefore, we allow 1 no-show appointment. After the one no-show, you will be charged $25 per no-show, or moved to same-day appointment status, or dismissed from our office at the manager's discretion. All fees and outstanding balances must be paid prior to being seen. Read more here.
